Sony STR-D7507If you are looking for good quality, this is the soundbar for you. It has excellent audio quality with high-fidelity speakers that pump out clear sounds. What’s even better? It’s affordable! This model only costs $3299, which makes it one of the more expensive soundbars available. However, it is worth every penny. Not only does it cost less than some of its competitors, but it also comes in black, not white. Overall, this is a great value for your money. A few minor faults include having a fixed width output instead of the surround, and the presence of background noise during movie playback. These issues can be addressed by upgrading the amplifier firmware or purchasing an HDMI filter. Sony STR-D5021If you are looking for one of the best-sounding stereo receivers, then the Sony STR-DN1021 is an excellent choice. It has flexible settings that allow you to customize the sound according to your preferences. The receiver offers high-quality audio with powerful bass thanks to its strong amplifier. You can listen to music from all generations of albums without any trouble because it boasts very good noise suppression. It also allows you to hear small details like voices and sounds that others might have missed. Its microphone supports S/N ratio adjustment so you can hear those tiny details. This model provides full control over most playback devices including tape decks, CDs, MP3s, and more. In addition, it has hot cues, which reduce latency when listening to streaming media. Another cool feature is the ability to sync this unit up with your smartphone via Wi-Fi (with the Free app). That way, you can send it online with tuning descriptions and basic metadata such as album art. However, we did find that the remote didn’t include volume controls which were missing convenience at times. Also, its battery life could be improved. Still, if you are looking for a great-sounding portable radio with easy setup processes and customizable features, the DN1021 should be on your radar. Bose SoundDockIf you’re looking for an easy way to connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to your favorite speakers, the Bose SoundDock is one of our top picks. In addition to serving as a speaker dock, it acts as a Bluetooth audio receiver in case you need to reconnect your device after landing from sunset. It has two built-in batteries that charge when connected to its counterpart—the included charging cable connects the two devices). Once they run out of power, you're ready to go. The only downside to this sleek design is that there are no auxiliary input options. You can hook up anything else that takes USB or Bluetooth, but if you want lots of slots for other electronics, you'll have to purchase another adapter. Bose SoundTouch 30If you are looking for an easy way to connect your MP3 player to your stereo, look no further than the Bose SoundTouch 30. It connects in simply two steps without the use of wires or dabs. Connect it to your device using its port connection and then sync up your mp3 player with your stereo via Wi-Fi. This allows you to enjoy wireless music streaming from your MP3 player over Bluetooth. Your CDs will still be connected through USB, so you can also listen to any digital copies that you have made of your songs. The only downside to this product is that it costs $99 and requires iOS operating system updates to pair with the wirelessly and control the sound quality. Its size makes it difficult to carry around. Overall, these issues make it more expensive than some other options and prevent it from being placed higher on the list. Not only does it work with your home radio service, but it also has a built-in speaker that will send sound directly into your house. What makes this particular model different is its voice recognition technology. It can recognize which station you want to listen to by speaking back commands. However, the models they offer have either AM or FM transmission and do not include a digital tuner. Bose QuietPoint 40If you’re looking for a high-fidelity sound in a compact package, consider the Bose Corporation’s QC30 and 400 series portable speakers. They cost as little as $199 at most retailers. But be prepared to invest some time setting them up. Both require multiple steps, including positioning individual speaker units with space between them and using cabling that connects to a smartphone or tablet. Once they are connected, however, they produce superior audio quality without lag or breaking down while playing your favorite music. You also can play different songs through each channel on either unit. They feature good noise cancellation capabilities, making it easy to hear what is going on around you. They also have a night mode option that reduces volume late into the evening. Bose Companion 2If you’re looking for an incredible sound experience, look no further than the Bose Companion 2 headphones. With these cans, you can enjoy your music like never before. The sound quality is amazing – so much that it feels as if someone is sitting next to you playing the audio track in your head. What makes this sound difference so surprising is that there are no special effects; no noise cancellation technology is used. What works instead is a feature known as multi-zone acoustic synthesis, which replicates what our ears hear. By having more than one microphone and amplifier running into each other, they create a 3D space where every part of a song creates its unique waveform. It’s then rearranged by computer software, creating a new sound from only two sources. The result? Sound clips with actual human voices singing them! Need proof? Check out the songs ‘Pick A Song’ and ‘Who Let The Dogs Out, and listen closely. You’ll find humans reading the lyrics back to you. These exceptional vocals flow seamlessly onto all types of tunes, making for a very eclectic collection of favorite songs. JBL Charge 2If you’re looking for a rugged, portable Bluetooth speaker that can also connect to your smartphone, this is one of our favorites. It has two different modes- party and Spotify. In “party mode,” it pumps out 15W driver power and handles up to 1,000 hours of battery life. That means you can play music all day without having to find an outlet or rechargeable battery. To use it, just plug its car charger cable (that’s included) into your vehicle’s AUX port. Then sync it with your phone via Bluetooth. You can choose from three different drivers- strong, medium, or small. Also, there are two sound profiles- modern and classic. What I love about the Charge 2 is that no matter which version you get, it always sounds great. You also get both AMPLIFIER AND DAC connections so you can hear everything you want to take home. This may be one of the few speakers that you could consider taking on a trip. And not only will you feel comfortable playing it with friends and family, but they will feel comfortable wearing it at concerts! JBL Pulse 5If you are looking for a high-performance, smartphone-friendly speaker, then look no further than the JBL Pulse 5. It boasts impressive frequency response (can hear low frequencies), solid sound quality, and great acoustic performance. It has five speakers -- one in the back and four at the front -- which help it maintain its sonic integrity and avoid sounding boomy. The included app lets you tailor your experience to fit your environment or what you’re listening to. The only real downside is that the speaker requires an additional microphone to work. So if you want to use it as a headset, you will also need to purchase a second mic. However, this does give you more flexibility since you can choose either one alone to run your phone. And both products have several buttons built into them so you don’t have to bother taking extra ones off the market.
